7-Day Juice Cleanse – 11 Years of Experience in Physical, Mental, and Inner Reset

For the past eleven years, I have completed a 7-day juice cleanse every year. For me, this week is not a diet, not a challenge, and not a performance. It is much more a returning ritual that reminds me, again and again, how intelligently the body functions when it is given real space to regenerate.

During the week, solid foods are replaced with freshly pressed vegetable and fruit juices. The body steps out of the continuous rhythm of digestion, and with that, an entirely different process begins to unfold.

For me, a juice cleanse is not only about physical cleansing. As the body’s functioning shifts, the rhythm of the mind begins to slow, and over time, the quality of attention also changes. By the end of the week, a very different relationship often forms with the body, with thoughts, and with perception.

What Happens in the Body During a 7-Day Juice Cleanse?

Our body uses a significant amount of energy every day for digestion. When new food continuously enters the system, the digestive system is working almost without interruption.

During a 7-day juice cleanse, the body steps out of this constant load. The system continues to receive nutrients – in the form of freshly pressed vegetable and fruit juices – yet the digestive system is significantly relieved.

The first days are usually about transition. The body begins to release accumulated load – this is the phase often described as detoxification. For many, this is the most intense period: fatigue, headaches, or emotional fluctuations may arise.

When this phase settles, a very different quality begins to emerge. A noticeable rise in energy appears, attention becomes clearer, and the nervous system moves into a more stable state. If you would like to understand more deeply how physical regeneration and nervous system function are connected, you can read more about it here.

Many describe this stage as a moment when the body regains access to its own energy reserves. As if the system is finally able to mobilize a potential that often remains hidden under the demands of everyday life.

What Does a Juice Cleanse Really Mean?

It is important to clarify that a juice cleanse is not starvation. During this period, the body continues to receive nutrients – simply in a different form.

Throughout the process, I consume vegetable and fruit juices pressed with a slow juicer, where the fiber is separated while vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients remain in a more concentrated form.

This allows the digestive system to rest, while the body continues to receive the nutrients it needs to function.

During a juice cleanse, the body typically receives two to three liters of freshly pressed juice per day. When creating the juices, I follow a key ratio: approximately 80% vegetables and 20% fruit. This ratio helps maintain balanced blood sugar levels and supports a more stable internal state.

The Effect of a Juice Cleanse on the Mind and Inner Space

One of the most interesting aspects of a juice cleanse is that the shift does not happen only on a physical level.

As the body steps out of the continuous rhythm of digestion, the nervous system also begins to slow down. The rhythm of thoughts changes, and attention becomes more sensitive.

Many people report that during this time they perceive the signals of their body more clearly, connect more easily to inner stillness, and experience insights that are often difficult to access within the noise of everyday life.

This is why, for me, a juice cleanse is always both a physical and an inner process of cleansing at the same time.

preparation is key

Preparation for a juice cleanse is just as important as the cleanse itself.

Many people imagine that they can begin a process like this from one day to the next. For the body, however, it is much more harmonious when the transition happens gradually.

In my case, this is simpler, as I have been following a plant-based diet for more than seven years. For those coming from a more conventional diet, the preparation phase becomes especially important. It plays a significant role in how balanced and supportive the first days of the cleanse will feel.

Reintroducing Food After a Juice Cleanse

What comes after the cleanse is just as important.

After a juice cleanse, eating is reintroduced gradually. When the body has received nutrients in liquid form for a week, the digestive system needs time to readjust to solid foods.

In the first days, easily digestible foods are brought back into the diet, and different food groups are reintroduced step by step. This phase is essential for the body to truly integrate the energy and clarity that emerged during the cleanse.

An Inner Cleansing Process I Return to Again and Again

Over the past years, I have received many questions about the 7-day juice cleanse. How is it best to prepare? How much juice does the body need each day? How can this process be carried out safely?

From these conversations, a new idea began to take shape within me.

A small-group inner cleansing mentorship, where we move through this process together: with conscious preparation, guided support throughout the seven days, and careful integration afterward.

If you feel that your body and your inner world are calling for this kind of cleansing process, I will soon be sharing the full structure of the program. When the body clears, new space often opens in life as well.

And sometimes, a single week is enough to begin hearing that space again. If you would like to be the first to hear about the details of the small-group juice cleanse mentorship, you can sign up here for updates.
